# 500 Internal Server Error when Importing

 * Hello,
 * I’m having a few issues importing from one wordpress blog to another.
 * When I try to import attachments (along with the posts/comments/etc) I receive
   this error message:
 * “Internal Server Error
 * The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to
   complete your request.
 * Please contact the server administrator, [webmaster@claremontsportsconnection.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/500-internal-server-error-when-importing/webmaster@claremontsportsconnection.com?output_format=md)
   and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done
   that may have caused the error.
 * More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
 * Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument
   to handle the request.”
 * So, I uncheck the attachments block, and import the rest of the files. All the
   photos and media are imported as well, but are not attached to their correct 
   posts. Additionally, all of the posts are now authored by “admin” rather than
   their former authors.
 * Basically, I have two issues. Posts are now credited to admin rather than correct
   authors. Additionally, all media is now removed from proper posts. I would correct
   this manually but there are a few hundred posts and photos.
 * Anyone have suggestions? Much appreciated.

 * – deactivating **all** plugins.
 * – switching to the Twenty Ten theme.

 * Are you referring to the site that I’m exporting from or the site that I’m importing
   to?

 * Okay, after multiple attempts with all plugins deactivated and switching to the
   Twenty Ten theme. I’m still getting no luck. And now, I’m struggling to import
   anything without getting the 500 Internal Server Error.
 * Is it possible that it has to do with the size of the import file, although the
   error I’m receiving makes no mention of the file size?
