    Like the title says, I get a 500 Internal Server Error when I click Dashboard links of newly created sites. Can someone please help? I've been struggling with this for quite some time.

    I had an issue with the .htaccess on this one. Did you follow the setup and overwrite your .htaccess? - Mine was wrong as it HAD to be saved as ANSI and have the wordwrap UNSELECTED.

    I tried that but it didn't work.

  4. What's in your .htaccess?

    Subdomains or subfolders?

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
    RewriteRule ^wp-admin$ wp-admin/ [R=301,L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^ - [L]
    RewriteRule ^(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $1 [L]
    RewriteRule ^(.*\.php)$ $1 [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]

    The wp-config file is set to use sub domains

  6. Do pretty permalinks work on your main site?

    I think so, check it out: oceandigital.ca

  8. You're not using Subdomains.

    URLs: oceandigital.ca/blog/2013/09/13/who-would-buy-blackberry/

    See how you have blog in there? That happens when you're using subFOLDERS.

    I dont understand why. Heres the multisite code in my wp-config file:

    /* Multisite */
    define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);
    define('MULTISITE', true);
    define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true);
    define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'oceandigital.ca');
    define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/');
    define('SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
    define('BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
    define( 'SUNRISE', 'on' );
    /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

    How do I make the multisite use subdomains?

    (BTW, thank you for helping me out!)

  10. Regardless, http://wewewew.oceandigital.ca/ doesn't work so you didn't set up wildcard subdomains, certainly.

    If your using cpanel You need to put a * in the box in subdomains

    I followed the link and directions on that page to setup the wildcard using cPanel and things seems to be working finally.

    I also had subdomains and add-on domains configured in cPanel so I deleted all those first. I always thought a subdomain had to be present on the server before the wordpress multisite would work. I guess not, it only added confusion.

    But thank god that's over with, thanks again guys!
