# 500 Internal Server Error on wp-admin/widgets.php

 * I have just upgraded form vers 2.9.1 to version 3.1.3 and everything seems to
   be alright so far, I have just hit a snag on accesing widgets.php, I get the 
   following error.
 * Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration
   and was unable to complete your request.
 * Please contact the server administrator, [XXXXXX@XXXX.XXX](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/500-internal-server-error-on-wp-adminwidgetsphp/XXXXXX@XXXX.XXX?output_format=md)
   and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done
   that may have caused the error.
 * More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

 * Apache Server at [http://www.fishingec.com](http://www.fishingec.com) Port 80
 * Two things here
    - Does anyone know how to fix it.
    - where can I find the log’s

 * Hi Vexander, try check on the error_log.php on your wp-admin folder if there 
   is any and see the latest error logs.
 * You can try switching your themes to the default Twenty Ten themes and see if
   the same error persisted.
 * If everything is working fine with the new themes, there might be possibly errors
   with your themes. Try download the latest theme file and upload and replace the
   old themes.

 *  Thank you for the feedback the log’s were no help, last error was in Jan.
 *  I have left it to the site owner to upgrade the theme, I will give you feedback
   once I have it.

 * Hi turns out the problem was the plugin AVH Extended Categories that was causing
   the problems.
