500 – Internal Server Error

    After instalation and trying to set up only basic security web is down and also no chance to log into wordpress again. Mistake in .htaccess – ServerSignature Off. My Web hosting support help me. I am disappointed.

    Hi,
    The basic firewall rule is explained in the settings page as follows:

    1) Protect your htaccess file by denying access to it.

    2) Disable the server signature.

    3) Limit file upload size (10MB).

    4) Protect your wp-config.php file by denying access to it.

    The above firewall features will be applied via your .htaccess file and should not affect your site’s overall functionality.

    You are still advised to take a backup of your active .htaccess file just in case.

    As you can see the 2nd point states that it will disable server signature.
    The .htaccess file rules will not behave the same for all webservers which is why we say that you are “advised to take a backup of your active .htaccess file just in case”.
    I think that giving a 1 star is unfair – you should’ve raised a support request.
