Support » Installing WordPress » 500 Internal Error upon Installation

  • Hi Guyz,

    Ive got a problem with WP installation with this hosting – POWWEB.

    I have successfully installed WP several times in same hosting but not today. We called up the said hosting and told us that same issue happens to other clients today and they are working on it. So its server fault issue.

    Im just wondering if anybody stumbled here who knows how to solve the issue and have happen to read this, that would be great.

    Other information:
    WP version – 2.8.4
    PHP Version – 5.2.5
    MySQL Version – 5.0.45

    Error log:
    1635589 [Thu Sep 17 12:49:22 2009] [error] [U==pow.marcopollo] [client 76.117.149.46] (2)No such file or directory: getpwuid: invalid userid 1635589
    [Thu Sep 17 12:49:22 2009] [error] (2)No such file or directory: Apache::SubProcess exec of /opt/users/pow/m/a/pow.marcopollo/php/php failed

  • It seems that there is a problem with files/folders ownership.

    Hi Kailash, thanks for the quick responds, really appreciated it.

    Anyways, what exactly is ‘problem with files/folders ownership’? hehe sorry… 🙂

    Thanks again,

    In Linux, the files and folders ownership should be your user and group (i.e. if your username is testing then files/folders should be owned by testing:testing). But in your case it seems that all files/folders own by userid 1635589 which seems to be invalid as per error provided by you “invalid userid 1635589”.
