This is a fantastic plugin -really works wonders for speed – thank you.

Recently, i have started getting a 500 error on “/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?wpacu_check_external_url”

could you suggest what may be causing this and how to fix it- thanks.

@vivekmathur1969 many thanks for your feedback and hopefully, you will use the plugin in the long term!

My sincere apologies for not getting back to you on time! As you likely noticed, there are plenty of tickets here and it happens to miss a few once in a while.

Regarding the problem you’re having: that’s an AJAX call that checks whether the external asset is reachable or not (if the response is not 200 OK, it will alert the admin in a message). Now, you can ignore it as it doesn’t affect the functionality of the plugin. Perhaps there’s a long delay and a timeout error was triggered, leading to the 500 error, or at that time, too many resources were used.

If you’re still having this problem, you can install & setup a plugin such as “Error Log Monitor”. It should report you within the Dashboard’s widget any PHP errors triggered while that AJAX call was made.

Please update to the latest version of the plugin or to the development version, then check if you still have the same problem: https://assetcleanup.com/docs/how-to-get-the-development-version-of-asset-cleanup/

PS: I’d like to offer you a license of the Pro version to make it up to you for not getting back to you sooner! If you’re interested, let me know here: https://www.gabelivan.com/contact/
