500 Error Everywhere All Of A Sudden - Suspect Windows Update (8 posts)

I have a WOrdpress install here that has worked great for the last year.

All of a sudden when I try to view the blog or login to the admin control panel, I get a 500 error. I have no idea why since I did not change anything.

The only thing I see changed is when I RDP into the WIndows server, it tells me that an automatic update was installed. We have a private WIndows server rental for webhosting.

I figure the server auto installed a standard Windows update that was released and now that has disabled my wordpress blog entirely.

When I login to the PHPAdmin I can see the database no problem. It looks ok when I glance at it.

I figure that my wordpress blog has lost access to the mysql database somehow.

Does anyone know how to fix this WordPress problem?

So far I tried deleting the web.config file but that did not work. I cannot figure out how to get the website blog back up and running.

Unfortunately, a scan at Sucuri notes know issues with your site:

I went into the server update log file and I can see about 9 or 10 different updates installed on January 9, 2013.

I cannot see any server udpates installed recently. I know I have made posts in the last couple of weeks and it worked fine.

I still cannot figure out why it has stopped working.

thx, I am downloading the files into a backup folder, and then re-uplaoding a fresh set of wordpress files into the directory.

I have seen this ona few other websites where Google flasg teh website and the server does not block it.

I think the spammers inserted some viagra code into the wbesite and that is whta is going on. This has happened to other websites I have. I thought I updated all ofteh wordpress installs to the latest to defend against this but that does not seem to have worked.

    Thanks for the tip.

I have re-uploaded every single file in the wordpress folder.

It is still blocked. I guess I have to wait now for the server to re-scan itself or contact the webhosting company.

I will try to login now via RDP and reset the server ISS.

Now that I have re-uploaded all of the files I amnot sure how to get the website unblocked.

I am not even sure the webhosting company is blocking it in the first place. Since the database contents look fine and the last server udpate was January 9, 2013 that is all I can think of. The server did show that note about updates being instaleed recently but I do not think I have logged in for serveral months via RDP so I think it was noting the Jnuary 9, 2013 updates.

Any suggestions that I could try would be appreciated.
