5 line alternative .htaccess – search not working

  • I am using boren’s handy 5 line alternative .htaccess file:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /index.php/$1

Everything is working fine on the site, with the exception of WordPress search from any page except the homepage. On other pages I am seeing:

    ht*p://www.site.com/index.php/category?s=search+terms

    with “No results found”.

I’m wondering if anyone else has used the 5 line method and found a way to solve this.

Try changing the action attribute for the searchform form element to action="/index.php" .

That seems to work very nicely. Thanks for the tip. Actually I have used action=”/”.
