• I have tried installing WordPress.

I have edited my config file and ftp uploaded WordPress to my hosting provider.

I have set up a database and ensured it is running.

I have checked the password, user etc, over 10 times and they match the config file.

I still get the error : Error establishing a database connection

I cannot work out what I am doing wrong? Please Help!

-First, double check your wp-config.php file settings for the database name, database username and database password. This is where most errors occur.

-Then check that you don’t need to change the database host from “localhost” to something else.

-Check you have actually created a database with the same database name as is in your wp-config.php file.

-Last, but not least, if all that information is correct your database probably has a problem with it and you may need to contact your web hosting.

tell me which hosting service you are using. based on that you need to change the host name that is important. All database host is not a localhost for all the hosting provider.
