• Hi all,

I had a blog running an older version of WP (forget exactly which). I used the automatic upgrade in the Admin panel (not a WP update plug).

Needless to say, it failed. So I manually uploaded version 3.03 with no luck. I removed all plug-ins saving them to my hard drive and tried again with no luck.

The wp-admin and entire site display this message: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WP_Http in /home/formorei/public_html/hotgamingvideos.com/wp-includes/class-http.php on line 38

I have manually uploaded the new http.php and class-http.php to their respective locations. Again, no luck.

I noticed that when I FTP’d the newest version, 150 files failed to transfer. Requeueing in FileZilla didn’t help.

    Here they are: http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/8205/filezilla.gif

Any help/advice is appreciated. Oh, and dummy me, didn’t back-up DB before trying this (I know, I know). DB still there when I peeked through mySQL and phpMyAdmin.

    Thanks!

    Mark

I sorted this out to some degree. I can now access my site and it is running.

I went in through cPanel and used its file manager. I zipped up the parts of WP that weren’t properly uploading through FTP then uploaded those through cPanel’s file manager to the corresponding directories. Once that was done, I extracted the files from the archives using the file manager’s extract feature.

WP still says it needs to be updated to 3.03. Not sure I want to mess with that right now. I will wait a bit. And you can be sure when I do, I am going to make a proper DB back-up first! 😉
