There seems to be an issue with Flash 10.1 and the flash uploader.
I can upload images, but after thumbnail creation, the uploader hangs.
Thumbnails can be recreated manually.
Disabling flash uploader results in things working as intended.
On my part, no error message, depending on the browser I just get either a broken link, or question mark, or blank box. When I select edit thumbnail, it gives me the edit screen; on the left is the image but I can’t select to make a thumbnail, on the right is a question mark where the thumbnail doesn’t load.
I had also disabled the flash uploader, but that didn’t work either! I tried the recreate thumbnail option and there was no error message but no thumbnail was created.
All the previous galleries show up normally, and the thumbnails are there, but can’t be changed either.

Which browser do you use ?
I use Safari but tried Firefox and Opera too- no success.
The edit thumbnail issue looks like a javascript conflict, will look into it. Can anybody report the same problem ?
Does the wordpress core flash uploader works for you ?
The core flash uploader works. And there were no problems at all with nextgen until the last update. Thanks for looking into it!

also here. Since yesterday a NextGen user.
Looks pretty sweet. But idd, not thumbnails are created.
Its says 100% thumbs created, then the inner-box disappears, but the white outer-box stays on top. Nothing….
Closing the box manually, back on the main window. Refresh, but no luck.
So, for now, i cant use it yet.

So, the trouble on my side was with the Constructor theme. The theme has been updated to latest, which solves the conflict, nextgen is now on the latest version, and all is working! Very happy with the changes! Thanks!!

got the same problem since the last update. It can’t create thumbnails – after “thumbnails are beeing creating” happend nothing, no error message – just nothing. Can any body help me to solve this problem?

it is working for me again.
Due to another problem with a language plugin i increased the memory_limit in php.ini (now 64mb)
The language plugin works, but also the Gallery plugin.
NOt sure if this is due to the memory increase, but maybe this helps you guys.

I have random thumbnail creation issues, by random I mean that my flash uploading works fine and when everything is uploaded I have about 15% of the pics that have no thumbnails. The pics are there and were uploaded but justa red x in gallery. I have twenty ten theme and using mozilla. I have yet to try and reaload the faulty pics, will give that a run. When I create albums, they usually contain about 100 images of large pictures, sont about 8-15 of them fail to create a thumbnail… weird…
I was having thumbnail creation issues as well after upgrading to WP3.0.3. Surfed around for a solution for quite awhile til I stumbled on this post. I use the Constructor theme as well so Petluck’s solution worked for me after updating the theme. I hate updating constructor cuz it wipes out my settings and I have to re-do my custom theme, but that’s an issue for a different forum 😉
