I just upgraded several of my blogs to the recently released 3.0.3. All of them are having the same problem suddenly, which is that if I go to the plugins page, it’s just blank. If I go through “updates” to try and upgrade a plugin, then the admin navigation loads, but the main content area does not.

The only thing that changed was the upgrade to 3.0.3.

I decided to try uninstalling plugins, to see if one of them was the culprit, but of course I can’t access the plugins page to do it that way, so I’m just deleting them one by one via FTP. So far, I’ve deleted all the plugins that are common to all my blogs, with no resolution thus far.

I tried reinstalling 3.0.3 and that has also not fixed anything.

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

I tried both of those things, separately as well as at the same time, but no change. I still can’t access my plugins page.

In fact, I can’t access a number of sections of my blogs; pages, posts, comments, users, etc. I can access settings and tools.

Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

Ok, I deleted all the files from the server other than the wp-content folder, deleted all those files locally, then downloaded a fresh copy of 3.0.3, and uploaded it (other than the wp-content folder), but nothing has changed.

When you say you can’t access, do you mean the menu item is there but you get a blank page, or are the menu items not even visible?

If I try to go to the following pages and quite a few others by clicking on the left-hand menu it is completely blank. Nothing on the screen–just white:

    /wp-admin/plugins.php
    /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page
    /wp-admin/edit.php

If I click on the “update” link (when it appears there due to an out of date plugin), that works up until the point where I select the plugin and click the button that should take me to the page where I put in my FTP information. At that point, the main navigation is still there, but the main content area is blank.

Curiously, pages such as those below still show up:

    /wp-admin/plugin-install.php (add plugins page)
    /wp-admin/post-new.php (add new post page)
    /wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=page (add new page)

BTW, I have tried making a new post, and that works fine, except that after I publish the post I get a blank page, once again. But it does post successfully.

Try increasing the memory available to PHP?

Ha! Although increasing the memory in the code didn’t work, that got me thinking about whether there might be an issue with the memory on the web server. I rebooted the server, and what do you know, everything is working perfectly now.

    Thanks everyone!

Glad to hear you’ve managed to resolve the problem.
