[Plugin: JW Player Plugin for WordPress] upgraded to 1.3.2 and no vidoes on category level

    Hi-

    I just upgraded to the latest version of JW Player and now I no longer have videos displaying at the category level. What displays is the thumbnail image associated with the video.

    If I click on the individual video post, the video player displays and I have no problems getting the video to play.

    I have “display full content” enabled on WP and in my theme.

    Hi,

    This was something we changed because we were getting reports from a large number of users that the player was not rendering in category view. It seems that for the majority of themes it renders JavaScript code as plain text. This means in the category view users were seeing the code and not the player which is less than ideal. As a result we now prevent the player from being inserted in this view.

    However, it seems that some users have themes which support the player being inserted so in the next update we’ll be adding a configuration option so you can choose to embed the player in the category view or not.

    Hi,

    I’m experiencing the same issue. I’m using JW Player 1.3.3. Where can I set that option? Or do I need to change something in the code?

    Unchecking the “Show players on category and search pages” was the solution for me. Provided on the Longtail Video forum.
