@forestwander,
This error is only thrown if the WordPress uploads directory doesn’t exist or isn’t writable.
Just to confirm you set permissions on /wp-content/uploads?
Thanks.
Yes, absolutely.
wp-content/uploads and all the folders below.
Thank you
Alright, if they’re created it’s unusual the plugin wouldn’t detect them.
Which directories did you create manually? Did you create the following?
- wp-content/uploads/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/
- wp-content/uploads/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/player/
- wp-content/uploads/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/configs/
Also, looking at the code I’m using a built in WordPress function to get the path of the uploads directory. Have you made any customizations to your WordPress install?
Thanks.
I found the problem. Someone else posted about this issue with another plug in. the specification for the uploads directory in WP 3.1 has a leading slash for whatever reason. Once I removed that it worked.
/wp-content/uploads
vs
wp-content/uploads
Thanks for your help.
I have the same activation issue but not sure where this slash needs to remove. Please guide me. I made a custom wordpress installation. this is the page which has jw player video. But the video cant activate in wordpress admin.
sorry forgot to keep the video page link (http://www.marilyncalvo.com/?page_id=2)
@umeed,
This may not necessarily apply to you. Are you using version 3.1 of WordPress?
Thanks.
@umeed,
Since you’re using 3.0 the slash shouldn’t be a problem for you.
I get a 404 when trying to access the URL you provided. Can you double check that it exists?
Thanks.
