Tags and Related Posts Query

    Hi all,

    I don’t know whether I misunderstand how the related post plugins/widgets work but I just cannot get them to work how I would like.

    In short I have a post about a holiday (in category Holidays) to Venice tagged with ‘main venice hotel’ and ‘alternative venice hotel’.

    I have 4 other posts all about hotels (in category Hotels), one tagged with ‘main venice hotel’ and the other 3 with ‘alternative venice hotel’

    I am using a related posts widget. When viewing the holiday post I have placed 2 instances of the related posts widget in my right sidebar, one for the main hotel and one for the alternatives. In use, the ‘main hotel’ widget shows one of the alternative hotels and the ‘alternative hotels’ widget show all 4 hotels!

    Is my tagging wrong or just my interpretation of how related posts works?

    Sorry, ignore my ignorance – just figured out why it shows as it does.

    So, does anyone have an idea how to achieve my requirement?

    One widget to show the main holiday hotel and another to show alternatives. Do I need to have sub-categories below hotels, eg, venice main hotel, venice alternative hotels?
