Hello, I made a fresh installation of WP 3.01 and in the footer of the welcome page (where you create the admin user), the widgets on the dashboard and in the footer of the page appears this error message:

Notice: ob_end_flush() [ref.outcontrol]: failed to delete buffer zlib output compression. in /var/www/html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3071

What does that means? what do I have to do to fix it? it looks like a misconfiguration of the server.

The website is running on a server with php 5.1.6, MySql 5.077, Apache Web Server 2.2.3.

    I appreciate any help. Thanks

  • Try re-uploading the wp-includes folder from a fresh download of WordPress.

Thanks esmi for your quick answer. I tried that but did’nt solve it. Any other ideas?

Have you tried contacting your hosts?

I´m waiting for an answer from my host provider. Meanwhile, there is another thing I can try? another ideas? Thanks

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Thank you esmi, the hosting provider deactivated the php compression and that solved it.
