• Please recommend me some plugins to solve some of the issues I’m having…

    1. cross domain login– I need users to be able to login on the main site and gets redirected to their own subdomain.

    2. Subdomain users should see their site as their main site under My Sites — right now, if I go to the demo subdomain, I still see my main site as their primary site and can access my primary site’s dashboard (i’m thinking maybe multiple-database plugin will solve this)

    3. If I did use the multi database plugin, will I be able to synchronize all the live stats from across the network on my homepage (like new posts, popular posts, etc)???

Lastly, has anybody use the MarketPress plugin? I’ve been trying in the past days to look for live site using this…

    Thanks in advance

Being redirected to their primary blog is different than cross-domain logins.

Cross-domain logins means being able to be logged in to two domains at once, without logging in again. This is built in to MU.

A multi-db plugin will to nothing about this – they just scale the dbs.

there’s a drop-down box on that “my sites” page that lists what your Primary site is. What does it say?

If you are logged in as Super Admin, it will default to the main site.

Thanks for the reply Andrea. It was my own fault why the subdomain user has access to the main blog’s dashboard. I didn’t realize that I’ve made the user a subscriber in the main site.

By any chance, do you know a plugin or a hack to redirect users to their primary domain if they login in the main site?

eg. user logins into site.com, then user gets redirected to their primary blog’s dashboard which is user.site.com/wp-admin

    Thanks

    Hi David,

I need to ask one more question please.

Do you know how to permanently delete the “Create a New Site” link under My Sites in subdomain users’ dashboards? I’ve been trying to look up the source codes but not sure which it is in.

    Thank you in advance.

Do you want to limit people to only one site, or do you want to disable everyone from making a site?

    The former would be http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/limit-blogs-per-user/

The latter would be to turn off the option to make blogs 🙂

    Hi Ipstenu,

I only want to limit people to only one site….I want the link “Create a New Site” in their My Sites to be not visible.

Thank you for recommending that plugin. I have installed it and it works well, however, the link is still visible.

Is there any other way around it?

Yeah, go into you site settings and turn off the ability of users to create a new blog.

It’s under Super Admin -> Site Settings, I believe.
