New header won't work?

Trying to add come content to my template’s title meta tag to enhance my SEO so I created a file called header-gamedirectory.php in my theme’s directory and then I edited my template file so that it said <?php get_header( $gamedirectory ); ?> but for some reason the content I added to the title didn’t show up. I added the content to the title meta tag in the general header.php file in theme directory but it still didn’t who up on the browser. I also added it in WordPress’s default header.php file and it didn’t show up. Any ideas? I am using a custom made WordPress theme.
