Support » Fixing WordPress » Comment notification date issue

  • Hi,

I moved to WP from Blogger a couple of weeks ago and am generally really happy with it! The only major issue I’ve come across so far is this: if someone comments on my blog, the confirmation email I receive is dated 01 January 1970 (at 1 am). The comment timestamp on my blog is fine, it’s just the email I receive which is incorrect.

My blog is hosted with Bluehost and they seemed pretty certain that this must be an issue on the WP side. I’m not convinced, so let me know if this definitely is not a problem with WordPress.

I have searched and couldn’t find any other references to this problem. I’d be very grateful to anyone who can help me out or point me in the right direction!!

    Cheers,
    Tom

  • Isn’t that date something that’s assigned by the RECEIVING email server?

I have found that this doesn’t happen if I set the mail to be sent to an external mail server (Gmail). So the issue is with thebadrash.com sending emails to an account at thebadrash.com.

A curious issue, and while I’m no closer to understanding it, I have a workaround, so it’s no longer a nuisance.
