• I’d like to create and display a list of links to older news articles, organized by their original dates of publication.

Because some of these news sites don’t offer RSS feeds, I’m looking for a solution that allows a WP user to manually select a date, much in the same way an author can select a date for ordinary blog posts.

Ideally, I’d like the “add new link” admin page to offer the same date assignment “widget” that’s normally found on the upper-right corner of the “add new post” admin page. This way, I can leave the “link description” field open for users to give credit to the source of each article.

    Any ideas?

UPDATE: Searched for a plugin solution; nothing seems available yet by the results I’m getting.

Also: adding a custom field option for Links might help do the trick, but wading through Google search results hasn’t turned up much (most results are about using links in posts’s custom fields).
