The theme changes and the posts are gone from where? Are we talking a 404 on your links or blank pages? Do they come back with the default theme?
No Blank pages.
I have 2 pictures that I posted as a sample.
using the bombax theme. When I change themes they are gone.
If I revert back then they are there.

Blank pages means there are serious PHP errors with the theme. Check your server’s error log, but it may be that the theme isn’t WP 3.0.1 usable, or you have a version of PHP in conflict with it.
there are no blank pages. all themes are compatible.
Oh, sorry I miss understood… I thought you meant ‘No, there are blank pages’ (NO idea why I read it that way…)
Sounds like a problem specifically with the theme, and not WordPress per say. Have you tried contacting the theme dev?
Themes don’t do anything with permalinks.
Ok, So why are the pictures not showing up all of a sudden?
Also , I noticed that if I edit like the side bar no changes happen?

Again, it sounds like your theme has broken. Since it works with other themes, you may need to talk to the theme developer.
Also, are you running any caching plugins?
