Pre-Install questions for WordPress Multisite

    I’ve read through all the documentation once and I’ll be doing so at least once more before I attempt a multisite install. However, before I do this I have 2 questions. Both of which may be stupid newbie questions …

    1. At least two of the sites I want to integrate in the multisite require SSL connections for member areas. Does anyone know if this is a problem or will these work just fine?

    2. One client needs a multisite and I’m thinking since I have about 10 WordPress sites right now that my company site should be a multisite. What I want to understand is this … In a multisite can the individual sites be for any client’s needs regardless of topic or is the idea of multisite to have all included sites generally be about one topic… That’s probably not worded clearly but I hope someone understands enough to be able to reply.

    When you set up multisite, you’re setting up your own personal version of wordpress.COM.

    Each site can be completely different – it depends on your needs.

    As for ssl, yes, it’s possible, but I think it has to be ssl for all or none. can’t quite remember.

    Thank you Andrea_r. I’ll do some more reading in the hope of finding a definitive SSL answer.
