I have searched for this and found people with the same problem but I could not locate a solution. I want my non-tech client to be able to edit a very simple text file but I can’t get WP to find it. I keep getting the OOPS message, even though my paths are correct and the file is writeable. In fact, the only file I can access is wp-admin/index.php. That I *can* access and edit that one file, if I wanted to, tells me that it’s not a browser issue or a permissions issue. The File Editor seems to be working — for that one file.

But it can’t see any other files in that directory nor anywhere else.

Any new ideas? It seems like the most recent posts about this were a while ago.

    WP 1.5.2.

    Thanks!

    Ken

  • Well I put a file in wp-content called junk.txt and did a CHMOD 666 on it. Then in the Other Files section I typed the file name as wp-content/junk.txt and it allowed me to edit and save that file.

Thanks. Of course, it’s working now. And I have not changed a *single thing* since it wasn’t working. And I have no explanation for that!

So I am gald it is working but I’m still mystified. 🙂
