You may find good stuff in youtube as well if you have
good internet connection
I’m a rank newbie, but am learning fast. I learned by getting the basics, but I keep learning by reading more and more. Popping into forums, Googling, trial and error… There may not be a best course available, as everyone learns in their own, unique way. The codex is a good start. Supplement that with trips to Barnes and Noble and reading books. You’d be surprised that you soon identify what you want to learn and will gravitate toward those topics.
PHP is not joined at the hip with WP. There are tons of books on the topic that you can read independently of WP. Barnes and Noble is your friend there, too.
What course did you get, though. It would be a good red flag for the rest of us!
