Support » Fixing WordPress » User Registration Disabling

  • Hi all,

I have new user registration disabled on my site, and when I set this up it seemed to stop any new users from registering as subscribers, but I just received an email notification of a new user registration. Super frustrating. The new user was added as a subscriber, and I removed the account, but I’d like to stop it from occurring all together. Another oddity is that in the Options area, I disabled user registration, and in wp-config I’ve specified a URL to redirect to – define( ‘NOBLOGREDIRECT’, ‘http://vtdigger.org/subscribe/’ ); – but it doesn’t appear to be working. If I visit a registration page, such as http://vtdigger.org/wp-register or http://vtdigger.org/wp-signup it goes to a branded page with just the words “Registration has been disabled” on it as opposed to redirecting to http://vtdigger.org/subscribe/.

Any thoughts on how I can get this working so that no new user accounts can be created and any attempts actually point to my subscribe page?

    Thanks much.
