[Plugin: WordPress.com Stats Smiley Remover] Upgrade of smiley plugin returns error on 3 sites

    After upgrading the smiler remover plugin on 3 sites, all three sites went down due to an error with the plugin:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_item_quantity() in /home/content/....../wp-content/plugins/wordpresscom-stats-smiley-remover/WordPresscomStatsSmileyRemover.php on line 75

    Try manually resetting your plugins and delete the plugin.

    Then, manually remove the smiley (without a plugin) by adding this to your Stylesheet at Appearance/Editor in your admin panel:

    img#wpstats{display:none}

    The plugin has been fixed and updated, James is correct of course the function of this plugin is to add img#wpstats{display:none} to the header of your website.
