• I want to put links permanently on my page – a bit of text and a few links – maybe in a sidebar or a box.

I can’t find how to do it.

I’ve read the beginner’s ‘how to’ and don’t see the answer there. I’ve looked around elsewhere but I haven’t exhausted all the reading I could do.

I surmise it would be a property of the ‘appearance’ or ‘template’ I’m using. Get the right one it’ll be a simple menu choice thing. Get the wrong one and it won’t be possible without rewriting the source code.

Can I get a simple direction to how to do this or need I do a great amount of reading/research ?

  • For the side bar use the text widget. You can add HTML.

For a page, add the text to be linked, highlight the text and click the link icon then add the URL.

I’ve done just what you said to do, but my links within my blog do not work. The word hi-lights and the link is there, but it goes to a page on my blog that says, “sorry we don’t know what you are looking for.” I’m thinking it is something wrong with the theme I am using.
