Plugin to notify when posts become popular?

I’d like to get a notification when posts see an unusual traffic spike to the front page or individual posts to my blog. Is there a plugin for this for WordPress specific? Ideally, it would let me to configure a notification threshold and specify a notification method (email, tweet, maybe even SMS). This could be used for both admin purposes and public notifications.

Either this hasn’t been done yet, or it’s just an extremely hard thing to Google or search for in the plugin directory. Look for anything with ‘notify’, ‘popular’, ‘traffic spike’ etc in it, and the usual discussions about update notifications, popular post widgets and high performance WordPress optimizations come up, none of it is what I’m looking for.

Seems like this is such a no-brainer, that someone must have already created one.
