• I am designing a website using WP as CMS. I am hosting the test version of the site on servage.net and am having issues with permalinks: if I use anything but the default permalink structure, I get a ‘Page not found’ error message.

I have tried deleting the .htaccess file and resetting my permalink settings to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas or had similar issues with servage?

    Thanks 😉

Can you verify that mod_rewrite is enabled on your server?

Thanks for the response! mod_rewrite is indeed enabled.

Try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks in your admin panel. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

I am having a similar issue. I have multisite set up. My main site, http://www.the-tma.org – permalinks will not work but the subsite, http://www.the-tma.org/oilandgas does work with permalinks. When i switch the main site permalinks and try to visit a page i get ‘Error Establishing database connection’.

the .htaccess file is there, mod_rewrite is enabled – i consulted the host regarding the httpd.conf file – and AllowOverride is set to everything being a-ok.

I was able to do this on my localhost server on my computer so i’m really not sure how else to wrap my head around it. thanks!
