    Are you gonna make it 4.2.2 compatible? Sharing
   buttons on media does not show up on this ver. I think it’s compat. case

 * Add echo to that php short code command for it to display the social buttons.

 * My test environment is 4.2.2 and the media sharing buttons are working. Are you
   sure it isn’t a theme conflict? Maybe the theme css is overriding the share button
   css?
 * If you link to your WordPress site, I could see if there are any issues like 
   this on the frontend.
