Column Spanning Elements in the Dashboard

    I have recently begun to take advantage of the front page of the dashboard and while I really want 3 columns, some of the elements (namely, the edit box) are quite tiny. Is it at all possible to

    I was wondering if it’s possible to have any of those elements span more than one column? Either by tweaking the coding? Or maybe a plugin?
