4.2.1 database upgrade crashing

    I had this issue with 4.1, where I upgrade, but once it gets to the database upgrade page it times out and wont complete. With that last version I optimized and cleaned up my database, and was finally able to get it to complete. However, with 4.2.1 I cant get anything to work. I cleared my cache, shut off all plugins, went to the default theme, none of it helps. I cleaned up my database, checked and optimized tables, no help. Nothing in the error logs really seems to help, it just says:

    Any thoughts on other things I could do?

    Have you considered removing all your content, doing clean installation of WP for every release? WE have found that saves us time, compared to troubleshooting the upgrade process
