There is an alternate solution to this problem, if you need it urgently.
Do you have access to your wordpress database?
Then goto phpmyadmin and change your password to
$P$BCBMzO0/Q0l27.ajJ031sq/xZ/NowZ. — password
Now you can login into wordpress admin and change the password.

I failed to login to wordpress admin since yesterday. I was still able to edit my blog the day before. Have tried all the probable solutions provided on wordpress.org but didn’t seem to work.

OK Suresh, I managed to change the user_pass for the WP database to $P$BCBMzO0/Q0l27.ajJ031sq/xZ/NowZ.
but I am still unable to login to wp-admin.
As this is an encrypted password, what should be the changed password for normal login? Pls advise.

If you are using wordpress version 3.0, then change the password to below one in database wp_users table.
$P$BhWuJh8U7DNLR8MGehln85fPyKznIw.
Then goto wordpress admin and login with your username and type password as “password”.
Yes I am on WordPress 3.0. Have changed user_pass to $P$BhWuJh8U7DNLR8MGehln85fPyKznIw.
but still fail to login to wp-admin using password (without quotes).

Heck! My cutie wordpress themes doesn’t load when I access my site and I couldn’t even log-in to wp-admin to make any changes to my blog.

I cannot login into wordpress admin area even though I went to the database and found my username and password and email address so can’t login and will not send password to me based on email in database.

Alex, it appears I have a similar login problem as you. Only diff is your themes are still intact but mine is not loading. I’d even tried changing both my user_login and user_pass in the wp_users table via the phpMyAdmin page. But re-login to wp-admin with the new username and password still failed.
Any clue?

I tried the instructions above in detail several times provided by Suresh and it didn’t work, still cannot login to wordpress admin panel. Could this be a problem on my hosts end Godaddy? I can see my email and password in the database and yet it is still not letting me login or retrieve a new password
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try:
– switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides)
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
Then try logging in.
