Anyone know how to restore a WordPress 3.0 installation that was ruined by using the automatic updating???
anyone know how to provide any relevant information around here?
seriously, how are we supposed to help with no info?
just some basic stuff…. a url may be helpful. What doesn’t work? Blank site? Error messages? stuck in maintenance mode?
URL of where the former WordPress installation worked before I did an automatic upgrade to version 3.0 is http://frankandpam.com/home/ but nothing showing up now except a white screen. The admin URL http://frankandpam.com/home/wp-admin shows the same white screen. No login screen.
resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin may help since it was on a plugin upgrade.

has info in case that doesn’t work….(specifically the bit about being stuck in maintenance mode)
but lemme make sure I’m reading right, you did the auto upgrade of plugins? or auto upgrade of the WP install to 3.0?
Auto upgrade to 3.0 went smoothly. It is the auto upgrading of plugins that causes the problem. There apparently are some serious bugs in the auto upgrading of plugins.
Try resetting your plugin folder as per above instructions
Auto plugin upgrader worked great on my 6 sites….. it’s nearly to have things work on every possible combination of server setups, etc…. WP was very highly tested before being set loose on the masses, but unfortunately, things will go wrong for some people
Thank you for your help on this.
Is no one able to answer the white web page question?, admin works just no themes or plugins. wp-content seems to have a broken link!
