Using automatic upgrade to upgrade from 2.9.2 to 3.0
This is a blog with about 1500 entries. The upgrade has been stuck on “upgrading database” for about a half hour. What should my next step be?

I have upgraded three other smaller blogs successfully, including one that locked me out with a plugin problem.

  • Try:

    – deactivating all plugins.

    – switching to the default theme.

    increasing the available memory

    – adding AddType x-mapp-php5 .php to the top of your WordPress .htaccess file.

    – re-running the upgrade manually.

Thanks, esmi. Your suggestions seem not to be needed.

Two hours later, with the upgrading window still showing “Upgrading database”, I cautiously clicked on “Dashboard” and it loaded as 3.0

I have clicked around, and everything seems to work. I shall report back if I run into anything anomalous that seems related.

    Strange.

I am using the latest version of Firefox, Windows 7, on a pretty big and fast dual core.
