Support » Plugins » [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] “Loading…” because of wrong permissions

  • Hi —

When I create a new gallery, I usually import from a local folder on the server. Everything goes right, except when I click on a thumb, it says “Loading…” and the full pic doesn’t get displayed. When I try the pic’s direct url, I get a 403. When I rechmod 755 the whole directory (for that given gallery) everything is fine.

Is there a better way to do, so I don’t have to chmod each time?
    What am I missing?

    TIA.

    Any idea?

I still have to chmod directories after each image added :o(

Precision: What I do is “Import image folder” from a local server directory. It’s that directory I need to chmod afterwards.

    TIA.

Thanks for your feedback! Will do the same if I find out about it.

Don’t know if this’ll help you, but I also ran into a problem where any new gallery NextGen made had the wrong permissions.

I realized it was b/c I had SSH’d onto my server & injudiciously changed the permissions of wp-content/gallery itself at a previous time. This caused NextGen to create galleries with wrong permissions.

Once I tried: chmod 775 /wp-content/gallery, NextGen creates directories with the proper permissions.

    Cheers,
    Rishi
