Cannot upgrade WordPress or plugins

    I need some help — I’m not able to upgrade WordPress or any plugins automatically on a client’s site. The permissions are set to 777 on the folders so it has access, but I keep getting errors that “failed to copy file” whenever I do the auto upgrade. It just seems to time out. What can I do?
