• Dear all,
    Last weekend (when everybody was asleep) suddenly, without warnings or reasons, our wordpress website went wrong. First, we noticed that the pages weren’t no more available (except the home page). I’m the administrator of the website so, best thing to do, it’s to log in. But my request was denial with 2 messages:
    1- “406 Not Acceptable” from our host server;
    and trying again, this one:
    2- “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”.

    Searching for solution on the net, I tried to:
    1- modify the .htaccess code with no success;
    2- upload a previous version of our wp folders and files – got worst;

    I read this could be related with databases and facing huge code modifications – which I don’t really understand… Is it a problem with my server? Some wordpress plugings update? I’m tech-savvy with some limits, but any help will be very appreciate.
    Cheers

  • Are you sure your host hasn’t updated mod_security rules? I would ask them about this, as 406 not acceptable can be tied to the Apache module mod_security.

    That may resolve both of your problems.

    InclusiveHost-John, I contacted my webhost and mentioned this issue… and they fixed it! They disabled the Mod_Security rule (as the techsupport said in their email).
    Thanks to pointing it to me 🙂
