“Reviewed” status for posts

Hi,

I’ve searched over plugins repository but I did not find any that add a posts status.

I’d like to be able to set a post as reviewed, or ready for publish.

I write a post, mark it as “pending review”, someone read it to check for last errors, and when done mark it as “reviewed” or “ready to publish” so I know I can publish it when I need to.

If you’re up for testing 3.0, it does include functionality for adding new post stati.

I tried
```
function add_reviewed_status() {
	register_post_status( 'Validated' );
}

add_action( 'init', add_reviewed_status );
```
without success 🙁

I’m using WP 3.0.1. Does it have the ability to create custom post statuses (like ‘ready for publish’)?

I’ve read http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/12567 (& searched quite a bit). I can program PHP, but I’m farily new to WP.

Is register_post_status() working? If so, could someone help me get started with it?

Do I add it to my template’s functions.php file? I’ve added this:
```
register_post_status( 'Editing', array(
		'label'       => _x( 'Editing', 'post' ),
		'protected'   => true,
		'_builtin'    => true, /* internal use only. */
		'label_count' => _n_noop('Editing <span class="count">(%s)</span>', 'Editing <span class="count">(%s)</span>' ),) );
```
but had no luck. It’s not in a function (does it need to be). Is there a different way to call it? Sorry to steal this thread.
