This isn’t something that Independent Analytics would cause to happen on the site. Usually, something like this is caused by a change to the permalinks or something in the .htaccess file. Were there any other edits made recently to the site?

No, there were no changes to the site, except for WordPress updates and installed plugins…
But before deleting the plugin, I tried updating the permalinks – Settings -> Permalink -> Save changes – it didn’t help…

Okay thanks for letting me know. I have to assume that this error came about after installing one of the other plugins then. There isn’t any code in IA that could cause a 404 error. On the front-end, it mainly just adds a tracking script to the footer of the site. The error was also resolved when IA was re-installed, so I think there was something else going on.
