I have a travel website and because its really Mexico-oriented, I also want to make it Spanish. So I started, but I receive a 404 after saving. The permalinks are good (well, i think: category/postname).

But what is happening here, see image? I only see the title (and then 1 till 20), not the text itself. And the slides and the texts of the image. So i can’t translate the good texts. Someone know what i am doing wrong?

Hello there,

Thank you for letting us know about your problem!

Make sure you have pretty permalinks enabled and working. https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-permalinks/#using-pretty-permalinks
You can try to resave them from WP Dashboard –> Settings –> Permalinks.

The 404 error is treated also on our troubleshooting page -> “404 error when accessing a translated page” section: https://translatepress.com/docs/troubleshooting.

Also, have you tried to use the green/blue pencil when you hover the text you want to translate?

You can try this to see if you can translate the text from there.

Thanks for your answer! Well, my permalinks are custom, with category/postname. The URL of my given website shows that also. https://stevenabroad.com/mexico/yucatans-most-spectacular-secret-calakmul/ The troubleshootingpage also talks about the pretty permalinks, of course i checked that first. But maybe I am wrong?

The green/blue pencil is not available in my screen, i am afraid…

Well, I succeed. I turned off Elementor, and on. That made the green/blue pencil work. Strange, haha! I downloaded a Translatepress add-on, and now it works.
