[resolved] 404 issue with Cakifo & Yoast SEO Plugin (6 posts)

Hi - does anyone else have issues with this theme and the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin?

I'm getting the dreaded 404 when submitting the sitemap to Google.

Of course the first thing I did was search for solutions to the plugin itself. I have implemented both fixes listed here, unfortunately neither works.

As these seem to be the only two fixes needed for most people, but which don't work for me, I was wondering if there is anything in the theme itself which could be causing this error?

    The site is http://fourthfloorreview.com/

    Can anyone offer any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    What URL do you submit?

http://fourthfloorreview.com/sitemap_index.xml does not return a 404 error. I don't see any content but when looking at the page source, it seems there's content.

http://fourthfloorreview.com/post-sitemap.xml is also working. Again, the same problem with the content.

I dont' see how it's related to the theme. Could you try switching to the default theme and see if the problem is still there?

    Thanks for the reply.

I've tried the default theme and still have the problem - Google Webmaster tools report it can't find the sitemap (404).

So the two plugin fixes don't work, and it doesn't appear to be theme related.

No idea what to do next :(

    Thanks for the feedback anyway.

Have you tried the support forum for that plugin?

Thanks, but in the meantime I've switched to All in One SEO. I don't have the time to spend ages diagnosing this stuff, if I can't get it working fast I have to move on.

I appreciate your support though, thank you :)

    You're welcome :)

I've marked this topic as resolved then.
