Support » Fixing WordPress » 404 Images – WordPress adding a forward slash to my URLs

  • Hi, I have a website running on wordpress perfectly. I created 2 subdomains on that site. I installed wordpress on one subdomain perfectly but on the other subdomain the images are not showing frontend or in the backend/dashboard. No images appear when I install to the media library. All have a 404, not found.

When I look at the 404 error, wordpress seems to be putting at forward slash at the end of every image url and only the image urls nowhere else.

I have deleted wordpress from the server, deleted the database and reinstalled about 20 times now – nothing seems to work. I have installed the latest version of wordpress, older versions of wordpress and I have cloned the above working versions, including using a clone of those databases. This does not work.

However if I upload images via FTP to the subdomain and reference that URL directly, these images will show. I have gone into the database and looked at the url structure its allocating to the images and these are correct with no forward slash.

Can anyway explain this to me.
    Working main site –
    Working subdomain –
    Non-working/no images subdomain –

I would appreciate some help on this, as Ive spent a day and just cant see what the issue is.
