# 404 Errors when editing a page?

 * Bit of a strange one this, I am getting some fairly random 404 errors when trying
   to update pages and widgets.
 * Only one page is affected, the only difference between this page and other pages
   is that it claims that there is a more up-to-date autosave. Can someone advise
   please. Should I hack the database and remove this autosave to see if this does
   the trick or is there another method.
 * There is also a problem with updating widgets, widgets are created fine… updating
   them takes me to widgets.php and a 404 error.
 * There are no errors. Just isn’t working. Any ideas?

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
