404 errors into the plugins directory and several daily digest emails

    Recently I’ve been noticing in the logs several 404s into the non-existent plugin directories such as:
    /wp-content/plugins/wp-property/action_hooks.php
    /wp-content/plugins/resume-submissions-job-postings/installer.php
    /wp-content/plugins/auto-attachments/a-a.css
    /wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/license.txt
    /wp-content/plugins/user-meta/readme.txt
    … and the list goes on….

    They were all coming from a particular IP. In the logs, I can also see an entry for that IP like this: “Host or User Lockout 10”. Does that mean the IP is blocked from accessing the site?

    I’ve also been receiving heaps of Daily Digest emails. I think it’s because of the above 404s but not sure… Is there a correlation between the 404s and the emails? How can I fix this?
