 * Hi everyone, I’ve run into some troubles that I can’t seem to get rid of no matter
what I try. I’ve been looking all over the internet and I can’t seem to fix this.
I currently have a website and I am working on a subdomain of it (gren.corinasesthetics.
com) and everytime I go to click on a page other than the home page, I get a
404 error. When I go into Permalinks and change the setting to “default”, all
of the pages work perfectly fine. However, when I change the setting to “Post
Name” or anything else, I get a 404 error. I looked it up and some websites say
delete the .htaccess file or add some special code into it, so I did, and nothing
new happened. I also found out that everytime I delete or alter the name of .
htaccess, and save changes again in Permalinks, .htaccess does not get updated.
Any changes I make in cPanel do not fix the website, and any changes I make in
WordPress do not update the .htaccess file in cPanel. If anyone can provide some
insight on what to do I would really appreciate it.

 * If default setting works, then try reading [Using_Permalinks ](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks)
before setting a custom permalink structure again.
 * If clearing your Permalinks does not alleviate the issue, this could be attributed
to anything from a web server configuration to a bad WordPress install.

 * I’ve managed to fix the problem. I had to delete the .htaccess file, create a
new one, and change the permissions to 664. Thank you very much for your help.
