404 Error on RSS Link (8 posts)

I've just installed a fresh copy of 1.2.2 at http://www.miss-sassafras.com and when I click the menu link for "RSS 2.0" I get a 404 Not Found Error.

I searched the forums and found that it could be caused by my permalinks but couldn't really decipher what my permalinks should look like.

Right now they look like this:
    /index.php/archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to be a problem with your .htaccess redirection for /feed/rss2 and /comments/feed/rss2 b/c these links work http://www.miss-sassafras.com/wp-rss2.php and http://miss-sassafras.com/wp-commentsrss2.php

Should the links on the index then be changed to the one you specified or is there something I can do to the .htaccess file to correct the problem?

  6. Can you do your permalinks without the /index.php/?

yeah, try removing the /index.php part out of the permalinks so it reads something like:

    /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

good catch macmanx...didn't even notice the index.php in the permalinks...

I removed the /index.php part from my permalinks and added the "mod_rewrite rules" located below the permalinks admin section to my .htaccess file and now everything works! Thanks so much for your help. I was really lost on this one. :)
