# 404 error on plugins

 * I’ve been getting 404 errors on my wordpress, but I’m not the one trying to access
   the pages. For example:[http://theimperfecthousewife.com/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-dashboard-twitter/readme.txt](http://theimperfecthousewife.com/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-dashboard-twitter/readme.txt).
   Of course, the file doesn’t work, but what does it mean that I’m getting an error,
   when I’m not the one trying to access it? So who is? and what do I do? Thanks
   in advance!

 * I use some security plugins.
 * General all around WP security:
 * BulletProof Security
    Exploit Scanner WP Security Scan
 * TAC – this one looks at your themes to see if there’s anything hinky going on.
   Many theme makers put code in their themes that can easily be exploited and this
   will tell you.

 * Thank you! I don’t know much in the whole computer world so… I really appreciate
   the help! Should I install all of those securities, or is one good enough? Thanks
   again! I don’t want someone hacking my site! 🙂

 * You definitely want the TAC plugin.
 * I have all of them installed. Overkill? Maybe. Am I plugin happy? For sure. They
   don’t clash and I haven’t had issues with them. I was hacked once and I’d rather
   it not happen again if I can help it. My hack wasn’t from any of the core wordpress
   files – it was because of a theme I installed that had malicious code in it.

 * Ok, so I got on my WordPress blog last night to find that I had 16 (!!!) 404 
   errors all having to do with my plugins and the css text… so do I need to do 
   more than just install the security plug ins for them to work? (like I said, 
   I’m not very computer savvy….)
