[resolved] 404 error after site migration (2 posts)

    I moved my site to a new server (new domain name and everything) yesterday, but I now receive 404 errors for all custom permalinks. I had WP rebuild the .htaccess file (ends up blank, with just the begin/end WP lines), and I also reinstalled the plugin, but nothing worked.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Found the answer, courtesy of gdawkins. Just make sure the WordPress section of .htaccess has the following code in it (doesn't need to be in the WP section, but it's better this way for organizational purposes).

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
