same here, too many 404 errors in security logs due to jetpack/css/fonts/
same problem happened to me last week. Anyone figure out how to fix this?
Thanks all for the reports. We’re aware of the problem and will get this fixed with the next release. You can follow our progress here:
https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/1281
Any word on the fix for this? It’s small but it’s annoying and it’s filling up my logs.
I tried to apply the fixes located here:
https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/1281/files
But I still get the error.
The fix will be part of the next Jetpack release.
However, applying the changes to your own Jetpack installation should have fixed the problem already. Could you let me know what the error is in your logs?
I get 404s, a LOT of them, for these two entries.
/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/fonts/jetpack.svg
/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/css/fonts/jetpack.svg
We relaunched so I reset my logs periodically after I find/fix errors but at one point I had well over 1k 404s for these in a few days. I’m sure part of that is me changing something, refreshing, tweaking etc but still…
Oh, my bad, my fix was not correct, I forgot to go one directory downer to get to the right file. Try this:
https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/commit/8844adfa629efce76b3cf98c8d25a96be38d6c46
Thanks for letting me know!
Still getting a 404 error for
/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/fonts/jetpack.svg
In fact, I got so many 404s from my IP I got locked out of my site.
Double checked all three files with changes and they are as they should be…
Could you try to delete the entire Jetpack folder, and upload and install the development version of Jetpack instead?
https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/archive/master.zip
Let me know how it goes.
Sorry…
That does actually seem to have down the job. I thought I had cleared my logs but I must not have. I was looking for other 404 errors and noticed these were gone now.
Thanks.
Glad to hear that. I actually found a few more places in our code where the path to the font was wrong. I fixed these in this commit a few minutes ago:
https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/commit/de12f3c8bc938f03f189a40c23a4ebc56b0b1c8d
Sorry for all the trouble, the way we generate all stylesheets can be a bit tricky sometimes! 🙂
